Who we are
Lu Giba, born and raised in South Africa, is co-curator of Gourmet + Design after completing her Hospitality training in Switzerland and a career in PR and communication in the luxury hotel industry. She is, by nature, the perfect hostess with a sunny and welcoming smile on her face and an infectious love for people. Lu believes that her smile is her Logo and how she leaves others feeling after having an experience with her, is her trademark!
Bernhard Schoenenberger, is a Swiss nomad “if you can still be that at his age” with Cape Town as his second home and first love. Co-curator and founder of Gourmet + Design, Bernhard is an absolute Cape Town insider, who has already written his own travel guide about the region. His relationship with Cape Town began more than 25 years ago when he completed his MBA studies at the University of Cape Town UCT. He, the lover of good food, art, design, culture and interesting people, embodies exactly what Gourmet & Design is – recreation for the soul and interest in the finer things in life.
Bernhard speaks German and English and Lu speaks English and is working on her French. Together we spend our time discovering the unexplored treasures of Cape Town, experiencing the fine restaurants, culture, extraordinary art architecture and design.”
